Other then those two rules the definition of music can be argued almost anyway. It can make someone feel sad, excited, happy, lonely, or calm using the properties of music, melody, harmony, timbre, and rhythm. In either case both groups of people are correct and what music is to a person comes down to personal preference in what sound or lack of sound that person likes. People may like or dislike different kinds of music whether it is Stomp banging on trash cans and using brooms or the Santa Clara Vanguard playing Malaguena at the world finals. Nevertheless sound is just vibration with out someone to hear it. It can allow the player to say anything using music without having to say a word but what goes through the instrument. It can make a person feel emotion or not feel emotion.

Music can have a different definition to anyone but music must be made of sound or lack of sound and it must be made of vibrations. As a sound’s pitch gets lower vibration gets slower and sound waves get larger. As some people think that loud noise is music. However without someone to hear music it can not exist. Some people think that silence is music. One complete cycle of compression and rarefaction is vibration. Frequency is the number of cycles occurring within a period of time.
