Pollution has been a growing problem in or world today. In addition to the smog, the burning of fossil fuels also produces large amounts of sulfur oxides that can be damaging for anything from plants to buildings. Some effects of air pollution are not even known yet. Unfortunately, the effects of air pollution are not only short-term. When exposed to sunlight, many of these chemicals combine to form additional pollutants that are very harmful. Furthermore, pollution can worsen the effects of asthma and emphysema. As a result, more children have asthma than ever before.
