In today's society there is a heavy accurance of teenage pregnacies, resulting in a high
volume of children born with only part-time parents. Often times teens are reckless and engage
in premarital sex; not taking the consequences into consideration and when they are faced with
such a huge responsibility, such as pregnacy, they tend not to know how to handle it. Which
brings me to a recent episode of Maury (a daytime talkshow) , in this particular episode teen
mothers where on the show confronting the deadbeat fathers of their children.
In this show most of the parents weren't over the age of sixteen, which in itself is an
issue. They are babies themselves, how can they expect to be able to raise children of their own
when they are still living off of their parents to begin with. Having children is a job and requires a
lot of patience, children are not toys and can't just be thrown away when you're tired or bored
with them. Someone needs to sit these children down and have a talk with them to let them
know how serious their situation is, especially the teen fathers. These boys think just because
they didn't want the child then they aren't responsible for it, it's time for a wake up call, if you
think that you're man enough to lay down and take your part in making that baby please be man
enough to take your part in raising that child.
