             A Saga of The Painted Bird and War is a Force that gives you meaning
             Everybody hears stories about mythic wars from the childhood. When I was a child, my grandmother used to tell me stories about warriors how they tried to protect their motherland. People who died in the war just become a symbol of martyr. In back then, people were willing to die for each other. But now, people just care about their borders. U.S.A. has been passed away from many wars such as WW I, WW-II, civil war, war on terror of Afghanistan, and war on Iraq. Speaking of war, I changed my point of view about the Iraq war because of reading these books 'The Painted Bird" and "War is a force that gives us meaning". Authors indicated many aspects about wars through these books. There are some similarities and differences between the books that I have realized.
             Konsinski is one of the greatest writers during that time. He stated that he wrote this book based on his own experiences during the world war II. But the truth is that story which he wrote is fiction. In addition, one of the greatest aspects of fiction is that it is always alive. It changes just as history and the people who write it change. As each generation comes of age, they are able to write history and also fiction-according to their cultural values and beliefs. Through his loosely constructed symbolism, readers can continually apply his fiction to modern interpretations. In this sense, Konsinski's work is a gift to humanity. It is a gift to the future. This is a book of connectedness between cultures, people, and ideas.. First of all, a 6-year old boy was abandoned by his parents to protect him from Nazis. Then, he was taken care by a woman named Marta. After she died, he wandered from one village to another. Some villagers suspected him as a Jew or a gypsy because of his eyes and complexion.
