American History X

The movie American History X is a very controversial movie about the racism in America and the impressionability of contemporary youth. The movie shows the main character and the effects he had on his younger brother and what this younger brother went through as a result of what he grew up in. The younger brother lived with an indulgent mother, no father, and only had one older male to look up to, his neo-Nazi brother who was in prison. American History X is a good example of the struggle one adolescent encountered and how, with the help of his ex-con brother, changed his views on the world. American History X is a 1998 film starring Edward Norton and Edward Furlong, which depicts what life is like for one family that is highly involved with a white supremacist gang in Venice Beach, called the D.O.C. He follows along with whatever his brother does, and then after losing his father and brother, Danny does only what he knows, and for him, that is being in the D. Belonging to a gang, and hanging out with delinquent people are both good qualities of antisocial behavior. Sweeney, a black man, about a paper that Danny wrote for his history class. Danny is also influenced greatly by his peers in American History X. After being part of the white power group there, he begins to realize that all of the races benefit from each other in prison in some way, and Derek doesn't like that. When the movie ends, the paper Danny wrote is being read, and all you hear is Danny's voice, explaining the conclusion of his paper and the change he went through because of his brother's incarceration. Danny's mother, Doris, parents with what psychologists would call indulgent parenting. Derek begins to change his life, and is helped then by Mr.
