             Modern people seems they live in a whirl of business. People are acceleration of just about everything. They are accelerating pace of modern life. The technology has created the feeling that life moves too fast, but it seems we have become "addicted" to the pace.
             "Speed will create the values in 21st century," said Bill Gates. Things are not what they used to be. With internet or any other resources, we can touch with the whole world at the same time. Also, we are using high-tech materials, such as microwaves, fast-food and quick-service, to make our lives more quick and comfortable.
             Although they are helpful for our lives, it causes some troubles. For example, people feed a cow on chemical fodder instead of nourishing food to grow up quickly. That causes a Bovine spongiform encephalopathy. Also, neuropsychiatries shriek out a warning that if people keep behaving "hurry hurry" situation causes of a serious illness, such as a trouble mind, an anxious mind, dyspepsia and depression and so on.
             Some cities in Italy, they declare to make a "slow city" to live a decent life. United States also are in control of urban development to reduce the heavy traffic, crimes and environmental issues and so on. Now, some modern people realize the virtual image of living in hurry. So, they try to move to the country side, and pay attention to have slow-food instead of fast-food.
             James Joyce, the author of Ulysses finished his book writing two sentences in 8 hours per a day. As you see, depth of work can be completed with long-term diligence. As James Gilck said, the heroes were never hastening their lives. That is why they are not forgetful. The Pace of happiness is neither slow nor fast; we should keep balancing between slow and fast.
