Salman Rushdie and Bin Leaden

In the religion of Islam there are true Muslims and fundamentalists. The true Muslim would be the one who follows its religion to its entirety, unlike the fundamentalist who hides their wicked, violent and totalitarian agendas behind the true faith of Islam. According to Salman Rushdie, to put an end to terrorism, “‘there must be a thorough examination by Muslims everywhere of why it is that the faith they love breeds so many violent mutant strains’ as well as the United States practicing ‘better judgment’ and ‘making friends’ instead of enemies,” to ensure the safety of our free and liberal societies, and strongly support his ideas.

“Islam needs to face up to its Bin Ladens” To put an end to terrorism and show them that it is not Islam they follow, but their own private world. Fundamentalists are people who “ are against… freedom of speech, a multi-party system, universal adult suffrage, accountable government, Jews, homosexuals, women’s rights, …secularism…sex” just to name a few. They fight and rule in the name of Islam. They believe in nothing but pain and sufferance of their enemies as well as their own people. It is also they who encourage and create terrorism, with its scars and dam

. . .

Such an uneasy task cannot be accomplished by Muslims alone, the rest of the world must join with them, because when the fundamentalists and terrorists attack both Muslims and non Muslims of the world feel the same pain, rage and sadness. If only they would come out of the bad judgment, social isolation and self degradation box in which they are live in, and open up their hearts and minds to see for themselves that the bottom line is that we all are humans; and we each have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. For that reason alone, we must all recognize, and regard one another. Many dress alike, and many of their customs and ways of living are similar because of the oneness of the Holy Koran.

It is time for Muslims all the over the world to begin to investigate and separate what is true from what isn’t true, and also what is wrong from what is right. Many of those innocent people have nowhere else to go, and no other way of surviving at times if they do not follow strict rules and order, even when they are aware of the evil deeds of their leaders. These fundamentalists have somehow found shelter behind the shades of a peaceful and true religion, and they are poisoning our world and the minds of the innocent people that truly believe and follow them, unaware of their leaders’ immoral motives. One of the biggest mistakes made after September 11, 2001 was associating Islam and terrorism. If Rushdie’s suggestions are considered by the world, including the United States of America, just as they were considered by me, and agreed upon, I believe that a lasting victory over terrorism and its consequences will be a day that we will all see and cherish. Religious belief is a very important aspect of human life, and no religion asks to destroy its own people.

“‘Not by making war…shall we defeat them’, ‘it’s time to stop making enemies and start making friends’” with the people that we do not know and/or understand. The bottom line is that it is difficult to differentiate fundamentalists from true Muslims, so the United States and Muslims, as well as the rest of the world must practice better judgment. Better judgment must be made on all sides, and that step will lead to friendship, understanding, and harmony instead of hatred, despise, and misunderstanding.
