A Christmas Carol

In the historical novel, A Christmas Carol, written by Charles Dickens and published in 1843, the aspects of life and human nature that this novel celebrates are equality, love, and spirit. This historical novel shows equality for many, many reasons and exaggerates some aspects of the story to set a moral through. Also this novel celebrates love by bringing in different characters to set the mood. Spirit is shown when Scrooge, the protagonist changes his ways and actually feels good about his life for once. These are the three aspects of life and human nature the story represents. The first aspect of life and human nature that this novel celebrates is equality. This historical novel proves that no matter how rich, how small, and how different somebody can be, we are all equal on the inside. At first the protagonist Scrooge does not realize that we are equal and feels great hatred toward all the poor citizens of his town, yet three ghosts that pay him visits persuade him to change his mind. The first, The Ghost of Christmas Past shows him that when he was a toddler he was exactly alike with all the other residents of his town. He wasn't rich when he was younger and did not have many friends. This showed Scrooge that he actually w

This is why spirit is one of the aspects of life and human nature in this novel. Or else everybody would become suicidal, because they would not have the spirit to make it through their lives. He is poor, yet has the character to make him and others around him happy. Equality is important because he finally realized that no matter whom we are and what we look like, we are all equal. I mean the force, fortitude, strength of mind, character, guts, and will of a person. but fell upon the heart of Scrooge with softening influence, and gave a freer passage to his tears. This made Scrooge sure of his doubts he had earlier, Christmas wasn't about the money or presents, it was about love. Tiny Tim does this without even knowing, for when Scrooge took a trip with the Ghost of Christmas Present he watched Tiny Tim and how he acted. He is also dying, yet he has the strength and will to go on. The last aspect of life and human nature the novel A Christmas Carol celebrates is spirit. Scrooge gazes in awe as he sees poor people not sad, yet happy, and finally he realizes that the true meaning to happiness and living a good life is not money, yet love. "I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. Love is important because in this novel if Tiny Tim did not have the love for his Lord and his family he probably would not have survived as long. He promised to be more spirited all year round.
