Now this is just a general description of what Cryptologic Technician (Collections) operatives did. I will explain what I specifically I did and what consisted of my schooling as a cryptologist in the US Navy. While I was in Bosnia when the Navy SEALs I injured my left shoulder and that is why I am out of the Navy now. While I was stationed there a new program was introduced to the US Navy and other services from the NSA for a newly developed network “security” job. and writing this from scratch the night before its due in class… Now at this point while you are reading this I bet you are thinking has this kid lost it or he must be really stretching for something to write. Personally though I don’t see the point in writing a paper on a subject that really would only require someone to write maybe one paragraph on and be able to thoroughly describe their personal goals within that.
The duties performed by CTRs include: providing in-depth analysis on a variety of complex digital communications signals using sophisticated communications equipment and computer technology to provide critical intelligence information; providing analysis and technical guidance and targeting information to weapons systems while assigned to ships and submarines; possible assignment to a three-year tour of duty to selected ships home ported at Norfolk, Va. I know I went off subject through most of this but I hope you get a laugh out of it or something beneficial if at all possible. I was later accepted into the special program and did various things in the field and traveled to various places including Bosnia and the Middle East. After my “A” school I went onto “C” school which was at Fort Huachuca, Arizona for a communications intercept course to learn manual Morse code interception and other communications interception techniques. While I am going off subject I might as tell you what it was like and what I can tell you about what I did as a cryptologist in the US Navy.
