During the time of the Renaissance, there were many changes in the social, political, religious, and scientific aspects of life. These significant modifications were important for the future of modern day life. Some brought us directly to the practices we still have in existence today. The Renaissance Era was a time of great historical transformation. Socially, the humanists changed the Renaissance world. These were groups of people that believed in intellectual learning and education based on the study of classical literature. Living a worldly life and using their individual creative powers was of utmost importance. They were less concerned with getting to heaven, and more interested in living life to the fullest, "Carpe Diem." After he took total control of the church, he appointed Thomas Cranmer as the archbishop. Secondly, Luther believed that there should be no selling of indulgences (sins), and the church totally disagreed. Some of the differences between the Lutheran religion and the Catholic religion were that Luther believed that the Bible was the final authority, and the Catholics believed that the final say came from the pope. The changes and innovations helped to move the world forward to become what it is today. After four more marriages, he only had one son, Edward. His goal was to have a son and his success was limited. He and his 95 theses, which were arguments against the church, poked fun at the church to the point where people did not want to be a part of the church anymore. Cranmer was quick to annul Henry's marriage to Catherine. In doing so, he unintentionally created a whole new religion, Lutheran. Lastly, Luther believed that salvation was reached by faith alone, and the Catholic Church believed that you needed both faith and "good works" to be saved. It was him first and alone that said that the sun was the center of our solar system. Henry VII was a ruthless ruler with many wives. The church asked him to recant, or give up his views, but he only stated more vicious views. Acting through parliament, he was able to make himself prime ruler of the church and its affairs.
