Thomas Alva Edison

             As the 21st century has begun, some of us will think back of the great and famous people who impacted their lives and the world. There is one person you will know definitly because he is the greatest and most productive inventor in history. He is Thomas Alva Edison, the man who impacted the world with his great inventions.
             Thomas ALva Edison was born on Feb. 11th 1847 in Milan Ohio of USA as the seventh and the last child. surprisingly little Edison did not learn to talk until he was almost four years old. When he was seven, his family moved to Michigan where he went to school. But he was a poor student. His teacher thought he was incapable of learning so his mother who was a teacher took him out of school and started teaching him herself. Therefore Edison only had three months of education. However, edison was very intelligent and concentrating on what he was doing at the time very hard. He was also a very curious child and taught him much by reading on his own. Edison strongly believed in hardworking, sometimes working twenty hours a day. he was quoted as saying "Genuis is one percent insperation and ninety nine percent persperation."
             Edison began working at an eary age of 13 as the most boys did at the time. For several years he was a newsboy on the railway road and it was during this period that he began to suffer from deafness which was to increas through his life. Later he worked as a telegraph operator in various cities. Therefore his first inventions were transmitter and receiver for the automatic telegraph.
             All of his inventions his first greatest invention was phonograph. The first machine that could record and reproduce sound created sensation and brought Edison international fame. He toured the country with this thin foil phonograph and even invited White House to demonstrate it to president. His another greatest invention was electric light.
