Marijuana: Should It Be Legalized?

Marijuana today is a widely and the most popular drug that is abused, rather than used in today's society. For the most, it is the case of a gateway drug, but not everyone abuses this drug. There are people (users) who use marijuana for medical purposes. Statistically, the number of illegal using is increasing with each year, and with each year the issue of legalizing marijuana is coming to a closer matter. Should be marijuana legalized? Is another controversial question, just as to other questions with similarity such as: 'Should cloning be allowed?' The question itself is not rather should be marijuana legalized, or if it should be brought to an accepted point to legalizing. The questions are: If marijuana legalized, how greatly will it affect the nation? Will it be a healthy choice that the government will make? Answers are still yet to come, but it is most likely that the government will not allow for such thing to be accepted. As it is known to everyone, marijuana is a globally exposed drug including United States. Almost everyone "about 20 million people in the United Stated use marijuana regularly [...]" (Wood 154). The use of marijuana is a wide spread. The reason to this is for one: there is an obvious lack in controll

" It is obvious that drug lords have not stopped growing pot, "'pot plantation' had dramatically expanded in the past five years". Nothing is wrong with making money, but with such large amounts of illegal money gained, drug lords may spend it on something even more deadly than pot itself. There are the majority of kids in the United States with ages 16 to 21, who most likely to abuse marijuana. ], logical thinking, and the ability to form new memories" (Wood 155)? The results will be abnormal. Firing people will be number one factor in boosting the increase in crime rate. Then who knows, those new drugs may appear in the streets. The government should think further more, before doing anything that can be harmful and not beneficial. There is one agreement though that can be agreed upon by medical doctors. The biggest concern here is that if one thing is to be allowed (legalized), then: What is next? Should there be legalized buying of cocaine too? Everyone knows the obvious answer to this question. This is something that people are afraid of and this is what is likely, if not will happen. People just do not realize how one or second time high messes up their bodily functions, and how slowly people become addicted. The case is that majority of people are addicted to smoking, not to touch on cigarettes problem. As good as marijuana can be clinically, allowing it to be prescribed, is going to be something gradually added to the health care costs.
