Paul Gillmor was born on February 1, 1939 in Tiffin, Ohio. He graduated from Old Fort High School in 1957, in 1961 he received a Bachelor’s Degree from Ohio Wesleyan University, and then in 1964 he received a Law Degree from the University of Michigan, he also has honorary degrees from Defiance College, Ohio University, Tiffin University, and Rio Grande College. . . .
He was selected by the National Republican Legislators Association as one of the 10 most outstanding legislators in the US. Paul is currently serving his 8th term in the House of Representatives, and he is also beginning his 5th term as a member of the Republican Whip team. Gillmor; she serves as a Vice Chairman of the State Employment Relations Board. He also previously wrote an article for the Harvard Journal on Legislation, and he is also a US Air Force veteran, he served as an Air Force Judge Advocate during the Vietnam Conflict for one year. Before being elected to Congress, Paul was in the Ohio Senate for twenty-two year; he served as the Republican Leader five times. They have five children: two daughters, Linda and Julie, and three boys, Paul Michael, and Connor and Adam (twins). He is also a member of the House Committee on Financial Services, and they are responsible for banking issues, insurance, government sponsored enterprises, and public and private housing. Paul is also on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce where he serves as chairman of the Subcommittee on Environment and Hazardous Materials, the committee controls the areas of energy, environment, telecommunications, broadcasting, the internet, healthcare, consumer protection and trade.
