Ban on electronic equiptment

Hi, my name is (Your name). I am a senior in your high school. Recently you announced that we, the students, are banned from bringing any electronic equipment to school. I am completely against this ban. In this letter, I will state three devices that students think are beneficial in school. Then I will discuss why totally banning all electronic devices makes no sense in this upcoming age of technology. I took it upon myself to survey nearly every student in the school about the ban, concerning this issue, and how they would vote if asked. In the survey I also asked each student to write what type of electronic equipment should be allowed in school, and why they think it should be allowed. In my survey, about 85% of the student body voted ‘no’ for the electronic ban, and about 15% voted ‘yes’ for the ban. This means that the majority of the student body says that they don’t want the ban to go into full force. In their comments, many of the students referred back to the Columbine Massacre when they wrote down that cellular phones should be allowed in school. They remember when the students were calling for help. Thanks to some of the students having their cellular phones with them in Columbine, the emerg

The main reason why students attend school is to learn and to become a professional in the specific field of our choice. When asked to write down why they feel as though this device should be allowed in school, several students stated, “This helps most of us calm down when we are having a not so good day. Many of the students agree that music calms them down when they need to concentrate, or when they need to move on to the next task. Cellular phones, believe it or not, have saved many lives. For instance, when a student who is unable to hear, they listen for the beat or the vibration of the music to understand what type of music it is. This electronic device also could help us when learning another language. Some schools don’t have enough supplies for every student in the school, so why not use the special feature on your phone if you have it? Also, not all schools have the privilege of having enough computers for each student, so therefore if you have the function such as the Internet from another source, then why not use it?

Students often become stressed out when learning how to control a new environment and schedule. I use my organizer to e-mail my teachers when I need to hand in an assignment, and we are not in school at that time.

I would like to express that it is a new century, and more and more of the students are becoming mature and responsible. Music is especially beneficial in doctors’ offices. Therefore, I truly believe that this type of electronic equipment should be allowed in school. It also helps us learn how to be organized and how to separate our time throughout the day. Even if it’s only allowed on the bus rides to and from school, or at lunch. With this privilege I believe that there would be less tension in the halls. For example, in my school, some of the teachers are dishonest when writing up students, and the story that the teacher states on the misconduct is not the same way the situation happened.
