Life as a Human Being
How can I answer the question: who am I and where do I live? There are many different ways to answer it hut the easiest way is to say: I am Michelle O and I live in Feeding Hills, Massachusetts. That answer conjures up more questions. What is "Michelle O"? Just a name my parents gave me? And what is Massachusetts? Just a state? No one can give the real or correct answer to these questions. Everyone has their own idea of how we got here and what we are. We are human beings put here by God. Some may say that is true. Others think it was the "Big Bang Theory" or that we are a more complicated form of the ape. There is no right or wrong because no one has any proof. So maybe we really aren't here and everyone is living in each other's dreams. What is a hand or foot or mouth? How did these parts come to be part of our bodies? If you stop and think about yourself and where you are it is unreal because what is the skin that covers our internal organs that make us breath involuntary?
How did the Earth come to be and how did all the continents form out of a huge body of water? It is believed that something scientific occurred, hut do we know if that is what really happened'? Many philosophers believed that is the truth, but I don't think anyone really knows because everyone that lived that long ago is dead. There is a tree outside of my window, well what is a tree? So I am on Earth, but is it really a place? Asking where I live is tough to answer because I don't really know; no one knows where they live. These are all real places, but how do I know that? The Earth is a huge place and I'm a little spec in a little spec of a town. Personally, the "Ape Theory" sounds most logical to me. We have a bodily resemblance to the ape and they walk on two feet and two legs just like us, or maybe we walk on two feet and two legs just like them. There are nine planets in our solar system and I live on the one called Earth, right? So I'm told, but why is it called "Earth?" And I live on one out of seven continents called North America in between two large bodies of water. This is my perception of where I live and it is different for everyone. Sometimes I stop and really take notice of my surroundings. None of my questions can be answered without any doubt so the question, "Who am I and where do I live?" is a tough one to answer. Life is complex and fascinating and I don't think there is a right or wrong answer for its' existence. Who came up with the name Massachusetts? Maybe I see this state differently. In Massachusetts there are hundreds of towns and cities and I live in one of them, Feeding Hills. Everyone sees their own home differently than someone else. was brought up to believe that I am here because of God. Your home is home to you not your friends or anyone else.
