His first personality, also known as Charlie, is a nice, humble state trooper. He was extremely kind and always tried to be a good citizen in their town. He let people walk all over him and gave way too many chances by not writing tickets when he should have. You know that people can be too nice and be taken advantage of. It’s not always a pretty site when that super nice person retaliates in a negative manner. Charlie is constantly cheated, used and disrespected, in spite of the Rhode Island State po

According to the movie’s diagnosis, the character Charlie developed schizophrenia.
Throughout the movie, the medical staff seemed like any other hospital in today’s society, except for the fact that the medication’s effectiveness seemed to be exaggerated. He also had an episode where flipped out mad on the man he had asked to move his car because he would never listen. Schizophrenics are not always violent people like the movie portrays. Many psychiatric disorders are associated with impulse aggression. Charlie became unable to function in most areas when he wasn’t talking his medications. He seemed so frustrated with his job because he was no longer needed or appreciated. The police decide to let Charlie take Irene upstate. If I were this patient, I would try to find a treatment to stabilize my personality and keep me as my normal self. Hank got punched several times in the movie because of his problem. I would not recommend this movie to somebody that has this schizophrenia, or to a psychologist. From the scenes in the movie, it looks like the cause would be due to environmental reasons. I would give him a GAF score of somewhere around 30. I would also say that he showed symptoms of an impulse control disorder, called intermittent explosive disorder.
Overall, I would say that this movie does glamorize mental illness, but only to a point.
