Tuskegee Airmen

             The United States of America is the most diverse place in all of the world. We are just a melting pot of our own. Although we are very diverse, not everyone likes ethnicity. From the 1800's until now prejudges have been all around. It all began with the African Americans. Tuskgee Airmen is a film about a group of intelligent African American men are summoned to join the air force. The film takes place in Tuskgee, Alabama during WWII in 1942. The director of this film shows the viewers what it was like for a black man, living in a white world, and how they were treated because of the fact that they were in the air force. The reason why the story was told in this point of view was to show that even though it was a white man's world, it showed how black men triumphed over the criticism and all the ridicule. It also showed how flying had an affect on the black men, because they were doing something equally important as a white man. This movie would go down as a legend. Of all the bomb carriers in WWII the Tuskee Airmen never lost a single plane. They destroyed over 1,000 German aircrafts. For the first time blacks were appreciated by all of America.
             The way I defined the films message was the events that took place. None of the men in the film did anything for anyone else, they all strived to reach the top and most of them did. Some men let the white army officers get under their skin. The point being, do not let anyone influence you unless it is in a helpful way. I believe this film was made for people who are completely oblivious to the how the Africans of WWII were treated and the trials and tribulations that went through in trying to protect this country. There's a part in the film where one of the Tuskegee Airmen gets shot down by a plane, his name was Cappy, and when he died the white army officers took the black commanding officer (Benjamin O' Davis) to court, because they didn't believe that...
