You should do this about 3 days a week. She should also monitor her heart rate while exercising. Some cardiovascular fitness things she can do is she can take walks during the day, she can play tennis or go for a bike ride during the day while the kids are in school. For an exercise program that would be good for her is something that is moderate, not anything high intensity. It is the only one she can control's o she needs to quit smoking. She should do them 2-3 days per week, stretch to the point of mild discomfort, not pain. For her muscular strength she should do free weights doing back squats, front squats, leg curls, leg extension, leg press, she should also do some arm curls and pull ups. Any of these things can cause stress and add to her risk of heart disease. Smoking and having a family history of heart attacks and diabetes makes her have a much higher risk for having coronary risk factors. She can do these everyday or she can do them once a week. Since she has four kids, her life can be very stressful with running the kids from different activities, keeping the house clean and preparing dinner and whatever else. cholesterol and blood pressure recommendations for general health and wellness she would fall into the unhealthy category.
