King Henry VIII a Selfish Person?

             In the video Anne of a Thousand Days, King Henry VIII demonstrates just how far a selfish person, like himself will go to get what a person wants. He is intent on stratifying his own wants and needs regardless of the choices that he recreates or the people that suffer for his desires.
             King Henry VIII wants a male heir to the throne; his first wife, Katherine of Aragon was unable to provide the male heir to him. Henry was a selfish person who was used to getting his own way after all he was the King of England. He meets Anne Boleyn and starts down the path that will change his country forever.
             Anne does not love Henry, but she will use the power he processes to help herself. Henry thought that Anne would jump at the chance to be with the king.
             He was so unaccustomed to not getting his way that Anne reluctance became a challenge. He was willing to humiliate Katherine and himself to peruse Anne. He also put Anne ahead of the needs of England.
             King Henry VIII went so far as to split the Catholic Church and created the Church of England to further his cause. He tossed Katherine aside like a used Kleenex.
             Even after King Henry marries Anne, his life is still out of control. Thru his own selfishness, he destroys the woman he claimed to love. Anne's sense of retribution is that her daughter does later become Queen of England.
             Henry is a selfish person who gets his way in life he wanted a male heir. Henry would do anything to get a male heir even if it meant splitting the Catholic Church and even devoicing his wife Katherine.
