Life Lessons Learned From the Holocaust

Many protesters of "Operation: Iraqi Freedom" claim that it is pre-emptive and unnecessary. Many of the supporters, on the other hand, are stating the exact opposite of these claims. Many are going so far as to say that Saddam Husein and his regime have been committing such atrocities against the people of his country that we are late in removing him from power. In this day and age, it is hard to get anyone to agree on something. Everyone has their own opinions and views. Unfortunately, people don't realize that the ability to express your opinion is almost forbidden in countries like Iraq. If you talk down about the government, you could be placing yourself or those you love in mortal danger. Many people in America today take for granted the freedoms granted to them by our fore-fathers. They love to use these freedoms and would hate for them to be suddenly stripped away. That is because, as the Declaration of Independence states, people are endowed with certain unalienable rights. Unfortunately, many people like Saddam Husein never took this message to heart. They have taken away these "unalienable rights." Tha

Hitler did the same in Nazi Germany during the years of the Holocaust. On January 30th of 1933, Adolf Hitler became chancellor of Germany and immediately began seeking revision of the Treaty of Versailles by beginning the rearmament of Germany. It is scary to think that one man could cause so much death and hatred. If they had solved this problem before it was allowed to escalate, it would not have turned into something that will not be forgotten for hundreds of years to come. Nazi death camps in Poland will add at least 5 million more deaths after 1942. Problems which are solved quickly cannot escalate into something uncontrollable. Over the rest of 1933 and into 1934, Hitler began to rebuild Germany. Hitler would go on to invade all of Western Europe, save for Britain before the U. To think, this all could have been prevented if the Allies had taken action. The events preceding the second World War could be made into a thousand page essay and the events of the holocaust could be written into one twice as long as that. To think, though, that if the League of Nations had stepped up to the plate when Hitler first began to cause such an uprising in Germany that the lives of over 6 million innocent Jewish men and women could be spared is mind-blowing. Events that were detailed in this essay were but a grain of sand on the beaches of Normandy in comparison to what actually took place. Over the next couple years, Hitler and Germany would continue to rearm and would eventually move in and retake the Rhineland and reoccupy the land taken by the French in WWI.
