How interpersonal relationships influences our lives

Communication is so important in our lives. Besides satisfying social needs: involvement with others, control over environment, and giving and receiving affection. It also can be a link to physical health because researchers have demonstrated that a lack of close relationships can affect a wide range of health threats. On the other hand, in our childhood, we learn about our identity via the messages sent by others, and as adults our self-concept is shaped and defined through social interaction. Not every one needs the same amount of contact, and quality of communication. The point is that personal communication is essential for our well being. In the process of communication they're two types of model: the linear and the transactional model. In the linear model, the communication is introduced by a sender who encodes ideas and feelings into some sort messages and they conveys them by means


Relational messages usually refer to one or three dimensions of a relationship: affinity, respect, or control. Whereas not communicating enough can cause problems, there are also situations when too much communication is a mistake, because sometimes is simple unproductive. We are always sending messages to other around us using verbal or non-verbal messages. Some common misconceptions should be avoided when thinking about communication:Meanings are not in words. Communication will not solve all problems. We learnt about what makes an effective communicator. Words and deeds done are irretrievable. Relational communication can be both verbal and no verbal. It's impossible not to communicate. Here, we saw how competence refers to the ability to get what we are seeking from others in a manner that maintains the relationship on terms that are acceptable to everyone. More communication is not always better. Principles of communication:Communication can be intentional or unintentional. We also understood that communication occurs on two levels: content and relational.
