Rhetorical writing
A Favorable Impression of the Scene: The neighborhood is pretty quiet and I'm guessing it is probably because many are older and are at work. I sat down on the sidewalk and noticed the sun was out after a week of dark clouds and a few rain showers. There's a breeze of cold winds that luckily for me, prevents me from sweating as I am seated down. Finally, we have a break form the rain. I can hear the sound of a car approaching as I watch the tires rotate around and around slowly. I see a lot of nice green plants and trees. Piles of leaves surround them and I am reminiscing back to fall season. The man across the street is hosing down his car cheerfully, and I'm guessing it's because it is a nice sunny day to be here outside the house doing chores we wouldn't want to do in the rain. As he washes his car, the water and soap flows down the driveway and onto the road.A Negative, Unfavorable Impression of the Scene: It is dead silent outside the house as I sit down on the sidewalk, I could hear myself breathing heavily because of the burning, hot sun. The grass looks as if it is becoming dead because it's hot. Leaves are scattered everywhere and the mess is irritating me just looking at it. It is t
It is extremely hot I feel myself sweating but worse. It was early afternoon around two Ľo clock and unlike the week before, the weather was much colder and the skies covered with more clouds. A second strategy is the word choice selected in order to have a greater effect than that of plain and commonly used words. I put in mind that everything going on in my life was just great. This strategy interests and impresses readers to the subject and to listen to what the writer is trying to say or get across. I'm afraid that the water flowing down onto the driveway might cause a driver to slide and get into an accident if driving fast. At the same time, cold air is coming and I feel as if I am switching back and forth getting cold and hot, cold and hot. For the first description, I decided to write in a happy and jolly mood, so I wrote in that perspective. Writers use many strategies to shape one's view of a subject. Figurative language includes metaphors, similes, and analogies. With that, I wrote my description of what I saw, heard, and thought about my surroundings. Next, for the second description, I decided to write in a pessimistic point of view, where I tried to find something irritating in every little thing I saw and heard. Angle of vision shapes how a writer chooses to write his or her paper. The reasons for this may be because they each have different perspectives or angles of vision such as with their moods or intentions.
