Religion in schools

             United States citizens are very fortunate to have so many wonderful freedoms. Our first amendment guarantees us many important freedoms such as the freedom of religion. In our country there has been a tremendous amount of discussion and dispute on whether or not creation should be taught in public schools. In my opinion creation should not be taught in public schools. I have many reasons why I believe this and they are all things that I believe can't be argued.
             Creation is Christian based which would symbolize that God created earth and everything on it. To teach this in school would violate the freedom of religion. There are many different religions and to make all children learn one is not right. Some people don't practice any religion so to teach that in school would violate there beliefs. It is not fair to put creation into education because not everyone believes in God. You can't guarantee people the freedom to practice any religion and then teach children only Christianity in school. Church (religion) is supposed to be separate from government. Schools are under authority of the government so it would violate the constitution to allow creation to be taught in schools. If people want their children to go to school and learn about religion then they should send their children to private schools that our based on or allow religion in school. Catholic schools are an excellent example. If you can't afford to send your children to a private school then teach them the religion of your preference at home. Evolution can also be questioned because atheist believes in it and atheism could be considered a religion. That is a whole different paper!
