Macbeth

Analyze the different sources of evil and their relative responsibility for Duncan's murder. There were only three main sources of evil in "Macbeth". The Witches: They started all the evil.Lady Macbeth: She caused Macbeth to turn evil by convincing him to kill Duncan.Macbeth: Once he had killed Duncan he couldn't stop.Macbeth was the one who ended up looking like the most evil of all because he killed Duncan and Banquot, but it was Lady Macbeth who convinced him to kill Duncan and it was the witches who influenced him by using his weakness. Ambition. All the evil, from beginning to end, started with the

If Macbeth hadn't known the prophecies he wouldn't have had all the ambition that he had, and Lady Macbeth wouldn't have been there convincing him to kill anyone she didn't trust. As you should know by now the witches were one of the two influences on Macbeth, them and Lady Macbeth. We believe that this is not the case and that if the witches had not interfered he would not have killed Duncan. Most people would probably agree that all of the evil started with the witches. Cycle of Events: Witches prophecies and spells"ğLady Macbeth turns is influenced and turns evil"ğMacbeth kills Duncan and also turns evil. Macbeth had control over most of his actions but his one weakness was obviously his ambition, which the witches exploited. When Macbeth killed Duncan he couldn't handle the consequences which he had to face, Lady Macbeth on the other hand was perfectly fine about it, but as they got deeper and deeper into their sinister ways it switched around, and now Macbeth was the strong one and Lady Macbeth was the weak one, and ended up committing suicide. They also influenced Lady Macbeth, who in turn influenced Macbeth to kill Duncan. They gave the prophecies to Macbeth, and they probably knew how he would react. Everything that happened in the story was a chain reaction triggered by the witches. Once he had killed Duncan he had already gone too far and couldn't turn back, so he just carried on with his evil doing. Without the witches none of this would have happened. Lady Macbeth was the other influence on Macbeth, and the witches influenced her.
