Bikes

Often when you go motorcycle riding you can tell what kind of rider someone is just by looking at them. They often have certain characteristics about themselves or their motorcycle that gives away how much they ride, or how good they are. In general you can divide riders into three different classes. These classes can be split up into the wannabe's, weekend warriors and the professionals. The first class, the wannabe's, are given this name because that is what they are. They often go out to buy a old, dirty, beat up motorcycle thinking that riding it is the easiest thing in the world. Soon they realize riding one was harder than they thought. For the first few days, maybe even weeks they can barely get the bike to move. As for gear they don't bother to buy anything more than a helmet. The typical clothing is just cruddy jeans with a t-shirt of some sort. Hiking boots, a helmet, and maybe knee pads are al

Almost all motorcyclists look up to the small group of professional racers as if they are gods. The second class are the riders that ride by the "wannabes" on the trails, called the "weekend warriors. Just about every weekend these guys go riding, which leaves them in great shape. Their gear is often the best you can buy, but is given to them from their sponsors or received a lofty discount. When they buy a motorcycle they always make a worthy buy. Their bikes always look and run great. The third and last class are the professionals and the soon to be pro's. l that they will wear to go out riding. They are very lucky in the fact that their career is what they love. These riders then complain when they get hurt. They always have the newest bikes full of modifications to give them every little edge against the competition. They wear every piece of gear they can get their hands on, including helmets, knee pads, elbow pads, chest protectors, kidney belts, riding boots, and specially made pants and jerseys for off-road riding. While riding on a trail you may occasionally go by one of these guys, usually stuck or just resting because the are fat and out of shape. The "warriors" are also smart in the fact that when they ride, they look like they are going to war.
