Leadership is central to the appeal of Fascism

Leadership is central to the appeal of FascismDuring the 1920's and early 1930's Germany was unstable economically and politically. The government was in a state of dismay, the population was disheartened and scared and the great Wall Street stock market crash of 1923 saw the economy crumble before the counties eyes. These unfavourable factors combined to create a nation of unstable form, a country that was looking for a saviour. This came in the form of fascism, a type of government based on the principles in which the individual is dominated by an all powerful state under the control of one supreme leader. The hand to lead the people of Germany out of all the problems and deceptions of these terrible times was Adolf Hitler, a fascist dominator. The problems that the German government was having were a blessing to Hitler and gave him and the Nazi party the opportunity to employ their propaganda skills to capture this frustrated nation and win their hearts, but more importantly manipulate their minds and maintain power in Germany.Hypothesis: it was propaganda, which enabled the Nazis to gain and maintain power

He brilliantly organised thousands of meetings and torch lit parades, plastered Nazi posters everywhere and printed millions of copies of special editions of Nazi newspapers all methods of propaganda that displayed the Nazi party message loud and clear. Hitler formed a private army to beat up or kill anyone who spoke against him. Non-Nazi newspapers were taken over by a Nazi publishing company and over two thirds of the press were under Nazi control so social support for the Nazis become obvious. Propaganda was a key part to Nazi success but wasn't the only factor that contributed to the Nazi phoneme. Why did the Nazis use propaganda?Propaganda played a huge role in enabling the Nazi party to gain and maintain power. These included economic and political instability, increasing violence, and a need for a strong leader aided Hitler's rise to power and helped towards Germany becoming a fascist state. Other methods such as terror, Hitler's image and the weaknesses of the opposition also helped the Nazi's. What other methods did the Nazis use to maintain power? The Nazi's used many methods to gain and maintain power; propaganda was only one of them. Communists were deceitfully identified as planning a rebellion and used as an excuse to give Hitler's government special powers. They were masters at propaganda and they carefully trained their local groups in propaganda skills and used every trick in the book to get their message home. The other parties thought that the Nazi's ideas were so ridiculous that the German public would see through it and they didn't change their policies. They believed that if they controlled what the Germans heard, saw and read then they would be able to win the hearts and minds of Germany. This is how normal people come to accept the horrific acts of manipulation, marginalisation and finally murder, which came to a rise during Hitler's terms as Furhrer of Germany, the Fascist state. s and information, which is meant to make people think and or act in a certain way. One of the main ideas that a lot of propaganda focused on was on Hitler the strong leader that was the answers to all of Germanys problems.
