The Dangers of Alcohol In College

The Dangers of Alcohol in College The majority of all students enrolled in college today range from ages 17-20. The legal drinking age in the United States is 21. However before the age of 15 most teens have already consumed their first alcoholic beverage. Then they enter the realms of a college campus and the dangers emerge. Although there are many fears and dangers from drinking alcohol in college, there are nine indisputable dangers of consuming alcohol in college: 1.it's probably against the law, 2. alcohol abuse may develop, 3. alcoholism could evolve, 4. serious health issues, 5. binge drinking, 6. women have lower tolerances. 7. To begin with in the United States, the legal drinking age is 21 but the age of the average college freshman is 18.5 years old. Blackouts are occurrences where the user loses time. Nearly 4 million young people suffer from alcohol dependence. Indeed there are many dangerous aspects when college and alcohol mix but there are some that have no doubt: 1. Accidents and stupidity claim1,400 college students between the ages of 18 and 24 die each year from alcohol-related unintentional injuries, including motor vehicle crashes. It is as if the abuser is in a dreamless sleep, but to everyone else he/she is awake and acting as if fully conscious. Females have less body water than males. The more teens drink the less they use condoms. Additionally the percentage of students who were binge drinkers was nearly uniform from freshman to senior year, even though students under 21 are prohibited from purchasing alcohol. One of the other forms of alcoholism effects is the physical effect. However, Girls are beginning to drink at younger ages than ever before. Each weekend, each hour, a teenager dies in a car crash. Teens seem to forget sometimes that being an adolescent is just that, and adolescent.
