Today's Society
Ever since I was I little boy I can always remember my parents telling me it was improper to hit girls. I always agreed with what my parents told me and I still do, but why in today's society is it acceptable for the female gender to ridicule or even hurt the opposite sex. I feel like almost the tides have changed where there was once a time woman could not even vote now it seems woman has the potential of becoming business leaders but not by what they can do, but more by just being a woman. Everywhere you look in magazines, newspapers, and even greeting cards, you can see the ridicule of the male gender. Our society has an almost okay attitude on how its okay to make fun of men but it's never okay to make fun of females. Rather just being equal like women once intended to be when they did not have the same rights men did like voting, now are taking over our equal rights. They both had the same qualifications but one was female and one was a male. Even jobs that are normally occupied by a man are being taken over by females like; police officers, firemen, and even construction workers. In conclusion, you the reader can now see how our society has changed. In our jobs women get to higher positions faster. Chances are the female would get the job and not the male. In our education females get into colleges easier then males, and in just plain life women get away some things men can almost never, like hitting someone from the opposite sex or saying a smart comment that offends the female gender. This is totally unfair and that is why our society has to change. Women have tried so hard in our country's history to have the same equal rights that men do, that now it seems women have more rights then men do. I mean it is good how females are now getting jobs that normally you would never expect them to be in, but it is not good when they get the jobs for just being a female. I think this just has to be stopped, but there is not enough people trying to make it better but what can we do when there are people that do not even realize what is going on. Women have also conquered another part of our society and that is the work place. On the other hand, men would think of the remark as just a joke, but why is that. " Most women would find that joke very funny, but what if the joke was on them? You would probably see live media coverage of protests on how women are treated unfairly and all that kind of nonsense.
