A witness example

             As I stepped into Ethan's apartment I glanced around and took note of several items that could help me. Sitting down we began talking about football and the Titan's chances for the year. I let Ethan steer the conversation as I did my best to set him at ease. After ten minutes of chatting I felt it was time to move on to the topic I wished to talk about. I reached down and pulled my Bible out of my backpack.
             Before I jumped into my message I asked Ethan if he would pray with me. It was a great boost to my confidence when he not only agreed, but he immediately reached for my hands. As I prayed I felt encouragement pouring into me, so when I finished praying I immediately jumped right in with barely a glance at my notes secured in the back of my Bible. I opened to my first bookmark, Romans 3:10-12, "There is none righteous, not even one; there is none who understands, there is none who seeks God; all have turned aside, together they have become useless; there is none who does good, there is not even one." I then looked him in the eye and asked him straight out if he knows he is a sinner. With a steady gaze he admitted that he was.
             Luckily I had labeled my bookmarks so I knew what passage to turn to without referring to my notes. I opened my Bible to Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death..." I then opened to my 4th bookmark with Revelation 21:8, "But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." I then made certain that he understood exactly what we were reading, and just what the reward for sinfulness is.
             After a short fumble to find my next bookmark I read Romans 5:8, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" Quickly I turned to John 3:16, "For God so...
