Effects of the Articles of Confederation
Colonist, now with their Independence declared decided that a colonial confederation should be established in order to maintain their power. In order to establish the Articles of Confederation enough people has to vote on its acceptance into society. The Articles of Confederation provided the U.S. with an effective and ineffective form of government because of its accomplishments, problems and hinderances. Multiple factors were considered accomplishments in result of the establishment of the Articles of Confederation.The Northwest Ordinances of 1784,1785 and 1787, the Treaty of Paris in 1783 and the unity of states were accomplishments. After the Articles of Confederation was established, territories were divided and given to the government. [Doc.E] The government was then allowed to take advantage of the free land and sell it, according to the Northwest Ordinances of 1784, 1785 and 1787. The money made off of the land was used to pay debts that were a result of the Revolutionary war. Some of the mony was also used towards education. G] A prime example of people reblling against the government is Shay's Rebellion. Shay's rebellion, led by Daniel Shay, a large group of country farmers who were losing their farms through tax delinquencies and morgtage foreclosures. It also shows society's struggle at that time to stay on top of things in order to mainatin unity. The power to tax was also denied to the government, and the U. D] Just as Spain was denied the right of deposit at New Orleans, all the territory they owned anything the U. Robert Morris and Alexander Hamiltion took it upon themselves and tried to get taxation back under the authority of of the Treasury. S possessed beyond the Northwestern part was being obatined by the British in order to try Wells-3and get the U. The votes were based on if someone opposed to an idea their vote would be counted as the majority, not the actual majority that voted for it. Creating the Articles of Confederation also limited the way in which states could be represented when it came time to vote. t were West of the Mississippi along with the region of the Great Lakes. Farmers were rebelling in demand that they get cheaper paper money and much lighter taxes. S was denied the right of deposit to certain areas and limited voting to one vote per state.
