The Human Papillomavirus
The Human Papillomavirus Report I am doing a report about the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). HPV is also known as the wart virus. It's sad, but true, that sexually active people may have this virus and never even heard about it. Since HPV is a communicable virus, one with it can give it to another if they were to have sex with an uninfected person. There are millions of people around the world that are infected. At least 75% of all sexually active people have the virus at some point in their life. There is more than one type of HPV. I will discuss important information having to do with the wart virus. After reading my report, maybe you can let others be aware of this extremely common virus. What Causes HPV? HPV is usually spread by direct skin-to-skin contact during vaginal or anal sex. It's rare but can be transmitted to the mouth by oral sex. Another way you can get HPV is by sharing bath towels if rubbed into the genital area or by sharing underwear with one that has the infection. Genital forms of the virus target the moist usually pink area or red tissue. So what basically causes HPV is sex. The more partners you have sex with, the higher risk you have getting the virus.
Here are some symptoms of having the HPV infection. You never know who might have the virus. Having pap smears will detect the wart virus. It still can be there in the tissue. Can the Virus be Cancerous? There are some types of HPV that can lead to cervical cancer. The immune system supposedly clears the virus but not completely in some cases. It is used to clear genital and peri-anal warts. That doesn't mean the virus will be gone. Another way to prevent the virus is by not sharing swimsuits or underwear. This will detect any abnormal cells present on the surface of the cervix. Imiquimod is another treatment that is a self-applied cream. · If you notice any unusual growths, bumps, or skin changes on or near your penis, vagina, vulva, or anus.
