             When your blood's rushing and your palms are sweaty and you think your about to have a nervous breakdown; your not. This is your body's perturbation homeostasis reacting to the given situation. This is also known as stress. Stress is usually associated with negative connotations but not all stress is bad. This paper will distinguish the two and possibly tell the most common causes of stress and their effects, either good or bad.
             One cause of stress is due to the genetic factors of stress. Some people could have been born with "nervous", and "grouches." Initially we are by nature prone to be shy or outgoing and we inherit a propensity for certain psychological disorders. Doctors break down these clinical conditions into three parts; classical conditioning, operant conditioning, and operant conditioning-negative reinforcement. These process help doctors to learn how to react to fear response, attention and dependency fears of growth, and frightening situations may reinforce to build stress.
             Situations that cause us to feel happy, excited and surprised can be called stressors, and situations that cause us to feel sad, scared or mad can be bad stressors.
             Too much stress can have a negative affect on one's body, mind and feelings. How you handle your stress has a lot to do with your health. When stress becomes to frustrating and lasts for long periods, it can become harmful distress. Recognizing the early signs of stress and doing something about it can improve the quality of your life.
             The physical signs of stress on the body are headaches, nervousness, perspiration, and increased urination. Some mental signs are; lack of concentration, a drop in school or work performance, carelessness, and forgetfulness. The emotional signs are; bored, anger outburst, sad/depressed, withdrawn, and constant fighting.
