19th Century Labor
During the second half of the 19th century, a large amount of changed took place in the U.S. The urban scene was the place for the majority of these changes. US Cities were being taken over total renovations. Some changes were not accepted by the people.The changes in these times helped make America what it is today. Without these changed in economy or physical landscapes, we may have a totally different aspect of the urban scene. During the 1850's - 1890's the urban scene has been totally out numbered by the rural scene. This may have been the result in the increase in immigrants coming into the city, and non-immigrants wanting a better life than what the urban scene turned into. Giving money out left and right was a way to support the new immigrants to mold into their new lives. The newer 1890's version has a little less room but it introduces an air shaft, more windows and more room for the living room and kitchen. 5) The urban scene of the cities at this time had many improvements. The time period was without doubt tough to survive in. The city became something by the influences of the technology and people that inhabit it. me was dirty, grimy and absolutely unbearable for middle and upper class people. Also the windows slanted letting the middle section of the tenements to get sunlight. The second half of the 19th century was no easy for many people. This was seen as both a negative and positive during these times. Some were supported by the people and others not. There are no air shafts for cleaner air.
