Child abuse
Child Abuse is such a disturbing subject. Many parents throughout the world cringe when they hear this word. Ironically, one of Sweden's biggest problems is child abuse and trying to stop it. Despite living in such a prosperous wonderful country, children in Sweden are encountering all types of child abuse. There are several organizations and laws being passed that are against child abuse, and feel very strongly about putting an end to it. First, child abuse is a term, which describes all the ways in which a child's development and health are damaged by the actions, or inactions of others. Child abuse is crucial problem in the Sweden as well as countries on the Scandinavian Peninsula. According to a survey conducted in 1985 by the Children's Ombudsman one of every ten girls and one out of every thirty boys have been sexually abused before the age of eighteen. Thirty-two percent of the offenders were found to be men under the age of twenty-one. The average age of a victim is 9.6 years
Furthermore, the Eastern European Child Abuse Project has also taken action. Owen Lewis have been working in Stockholm since 1995. The committee agrees that child abuse is wrong, but the ways of approaching it is not right. Kids become scared of their biological parents. They mostly focus on cities where the government is not doing enough to stop child abuse. They're taking away their rights as citizens to raise their children how they believe they should be raised. In July 1, 1979 Sweden banded corporal punishment because of the many cases of child abuse. The social workers and the foster parents make the situation worse by telling them that their biological parents are dangerous bad people. Furthermore, if parents break any of rules their children are taken away and are put into foster homes that are usually bad. The people of Sweden believe that banding this has caused our country to operate at its best and has lowered the number of child abuse cases. Our children are the future leaders of the next generation and need to be treated like that. They have trained many people to do outreaches throughout Sweden as well as educate professionals such as teachers and doctors. As citizens we will do anything it takes to stop this. In Stockholm, Sweden they sent two psychiatrists, Dr. Hurting a child physically and emotionally is affecting their education which an essential part of Swedish Life.
