Assisted suicide

Today I will be talking and informing you about assisted suicide. A lot of people think Assisted Suicide and Euthanasia are the same thing. But they are not, they are different.
Physician-assisted suicide refers to the physician, which is the patient's doctor providing the means for death, usually giving the patient a prescription. The patient with the aliment will administer the lethal medication, and not the physician. Euthanasia on the other hand, generally means that the physician would be acting directly by giving the lethal injection to end the patient's life. There are arguments whether physician-assisted suicide is ethical. But it is always debated. Some argue that PAS is a rational choice for people who want to die instead of dealing with unbearable suffering.
Others argue that it is unethical, because it goes directly against the traditional duty of the physician to preserve life. If physician-assisted suicide were legal, abuses would take place. For example the poor and elderly might be persuaded to choose PAS over more expensive care options.
             Other arguments against PAS Include:
             • Sanctity of life: This point out religious and secular traditions against taking human life.
             • Potential for Abuse: This argument states that certain groups, lacking access to care and support may be pushed into assisted death.
             • Professional Integrity- Here opponents point to the ethical traditions of medicine. The Hippocratic Oath states "I will not administer poison to anyone where asked".
This issue of assisted suicide has been in the headlines since most of the 1990s, mostly because of the actions of Dr. Jack Kevorkian. Kevorkian helped at least 50 people to die since 1990. He advocated a person's right to die and invented an instrument, which was dubbed the "suicide machine". This lets the patients inject themselves with a lethal injection of pot
