possesses. The ability to remember so many things makes our life richer. We can remember
facts, events, and people even sounds, smells and tastes that had a great effect on us and made a
permanent sign in our memory. Remembrances are the stage between the past and the present
and sometimes we live in a world of memories cultivate our notions of someone or
something. Sometimes we idealize memories that we can lose our objectivity and realism.
We keep memories hoping that someday we will have chance and opportunity to discover and
experience them all over again. However, even we have second occasion, we can experience
That happened to the author of story "Return to Vietnam" Elsa Arnett. She wrote
about her memorable experiences when she returned to her native country, after thirty-three
years. This place awaken memories from her childhood. She described her expectation when
she saw the tofu custard. After so many years she still remembered the taste of her favorite
