I often compare writing an essay to getting ready for a date. There are many similarities that exist between the two. The similarities start from getting my essay assignment and being asked out, to the end of my essay and saying, "Good night." The steps I follow in these two processes are: analyzing my prompt for key points, forming an outline stressing these points, writing a rough draft in which I make final changes in my final draft. It is through the combination of these processes that I arrive at the final essay. I also wait until the last minute to begin and get nervous because I do not know what to say and then I finally calm down and act like myself.
             After I get my assignment or a guy asks me out, I often just sit and think about it. The first step in my writing process is the analyzation of my prompt. I attempt to locate major points and important phrases in the prompt. This help contributes to my ideas and help from the structure of my paper. I either wait until the last minute to do this or start getting ready for my date. Every time I vow that I am never going to do this again, I never seem to keep my promise.
             When I decide I want to start my essay or get ready for my date, I go through a stage of being nervous. I never know what to say when I start my essay. The same goes for when I am getting ready for a date. I sit for hours and think about what I am going to say. When I finally decide what I am going to write or say, none of it seems to make any sense.
             The next thing I do is call them and ask them. "What should I wear?" When I am writing an essay, they usually help me outline. It begins with my thesis and contains an overview of each paragraph. I emphasize the highlights and key points of the body. My outline is critical to the development of my paper.
