Germany

Throughout the past one hundred years the history of Germany Has changed more than the past two thousand. From being a loose band of tribes to a loose affiliation of city states then later the Holy Roman Empire and now modern day Germany as we know it. Their struggle for a strong unified nation has often led them into the grips of tyrannical rules who destroy everything they have worked so hard for. During the 1920's and 1930's a young and charismatic Austrian toured the country feeding on the everyday peoples needs and beliefs. He knew what the people needed and wanted, the country was after all in a severe depression, when wages for a days work were paid in a barrow load of marks, when a single pack of matches could cost as much as a million Marks. The people were in a desperate state, they needed a strong leader who could rebuild their country after the first World War. When elected into power he delivered upon his promises and rebuilt the nation by building tons of manufacturing plants and refineries, the everyday citizen couldn't be happier in these times, after all they had again the means to provide for their families. With the ushering in of the second World War the people of Germany thought they were assured a victory

The allies formed the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG). They east a special Christmas fruit bread they call "stollen" in addition they also prepare cookies of all flavors and colors and unlike Americans they prefer to have a crisply roasted goose. The wall its self represented the rise of communism in East Germany and the differences of ideologies between the nations, and with its fall it was symbolic of communism failing and the two countries reuniting. The government has even considered offering subsidies as incentives for families to have kids. Young students are trained and qualified at vocational schools while internships fine tune their trade. It can take days to prepare for the big dinner, which they celebrate with family and friends. They country now lay in ruins from the constant fighting, and the country was split into two. The eastern part of the country was to be occupied by the Soviets in 1949, while the western half was divided up and occupied between American, French, and British forces. The ideology of the Soviets carried over into their occupation of the eastern bloc of Germany, which they named the German Democratic Republic (GDR). The industry of Germany has always been every strong and prosperous. Every bit of land taken was given back because of their unconditional surrender. All of their training, qualification, and licensing are regulated by special bureaus and ordinances to maintain peak quality. They are also world renowned for their production and love of beer, humorously they refer to it as "liquid bread". The wall ran the entire length of the border between East and West Germany, and it had only two gates which people or materiel could pass. As the need for machinery and weapons grew, so did the number of factories and workers to staff them.
