Edward Britton Analysis

What is 'melodrama'? Do such performances still exist today, on either stage or television?
I would describe a melodrama as exaggerated acting. The Emotions of the acting is exaggerated. Stereotypes are often used
in melodramas. Melodramas are all over the place today. I'm sure there are still many plays, which have melodramas. And
on television there is plenty of melodramas. Most of the melodramas on television are sappy, predictable type shows.
They show way out things that could happen in real life but not very often. It is almost like a thriller in that it keeps you watching to see what happens
In the melodrama next. However, they are all over the place still and probably will be for a very long time.
Why did Izod Wolf hate British officers so much? In your answer, you should refer to the Irish Potato Famine. Find out what this was,
What caused it and who was affected by it?
Izod had a stereotypical view of the British. Most Irish people do not like British. A good example of why Irish don't like the British
Is the Irish potato famine. In this time there was a natural disaster causing all the potatoes to go rotten. At this time the Irish
had a diet, which comprised mainly of potatoes. In addition, under British law Irish-Catholics could not get a professional job or purchase land.
So the Irish had to go to places without British rule and were forced to eat potatoes even though they were pretty bad. Many Irish people got sick
and died. This is one reason in Irish history, which would make the Irish want to hate the British. But Izod doesn't know every British officer. He just
has this stereotypical view in his head and that's why he hates the British officers so much.
Is Mrs. Buckridge an evil person or just an unhappy, lonely woman?
The word evil, I think, is thrown around a little too often. I wouldn't go as far to say Mrs. Buckridge is evil. Evil is a strong word.
