We Are Their Only Voice

             When I was younger, I remembered walking with my friends around the neighborhood. We walked by this kids house and we witnessed something that changed my point of view on animals. While we were walking by we saw that he had fireworks strapped onto a bullfrog, and like an astronaut in a rocket, he blew him into the next world. After his space mission, he then started throwing fireworks at a near-by cat. I was too little to do anything about it then, but now if I was too see something like that again, the kid would be the one with the fireworks strapped on.
             Animal cruelty has been going on for thousands of years. Bullfighting started back in 2000 B.C., more then four thousand years ago. I do not understand how someone could watch another person slaughter an animal, its disturbing. It is even more depressing because this is a form of entertainment for sick and twisted people. Bullfighting is also only one form of entertainment that involves animals being killed or hurt. Bearbaiting, a popular form of entertainment in the 12th century, involves chaining up a bear and unleashing a pack of devil like dogs to demolish the bear. I do not understand how someone would get enjoyment out of this horrific act. I was relieved when I read that parliament prohibited bearbaiting in 1835. And yet another form of entertainment is cockfighting, where two chickens battle till the death.
             If every person living in Georgia had three pets, it would not equal the number of animals tested on every year. Throughout the U.S. more then 25 million animals are killed each year for cosmetic testing, education, and experiments. I can not comprehend how scientists can do some of the things they do to animals, for example a vivisection. A vivisection is the cutting into or operation on a living animal, usually for scientific research. Not only is this wrong, but I do not understand how a person could do this to animal and not have any guilt. If I accidentally hurt ...
