Descriptive essay
Five years ago, this very day a tragedy occurred in the Raya household. I know this because I am a member of this household and I was present during this catastrophe. It was during the time I was attending the 6th grade. My parents had been on vacation for the past week and they had come back tonight. We all got ready for bed and soon drifted off into a deep and peaceful sleep. None of us knew what was to come only a few hours later. The clock read 4:28 a.m. and we were completely asleep. Only a minute later, a neighbor of ours began ringing the doorbell, desperately trying to wake us and get our attention. My half-brother, whose room is downstairs, heard the doorbell and drowsily walked towards the d
" He then explained that in many cases, like ours, the people in the house don't even realize there is a fire occurring in their home. At that moment my brother ran and knocked on my sister's room. They said they could not do anything at the moment. She awoke and as soon as she understood his message, she pushed my little brother and I out of bed. She told them to get out of the house, but they didn't budge because they did not believe her. The firefighters arrived twenty minutes later. This day was so amazing, a narrow escape from what could have happened to us. What happens then is that the smoke fills your lungs and usually they die in their sleep. She quickly repeated what the neighbor had said. I wont forget this day because it just shows how lucky we were to get out of the house with perfect timing. The captain of the firefighters had this astonished look upon his aging face.
