             The worst habit today in the United States is smoking. Bad habits are so popular today, but nothing is as bad as smoking. For example, someone biting there fingernails constantly is considered a bad habit, but it is not as unhealthy as smoking. Smoking should be banned from the United States because it affects the budget, appearance, and most importantly health.
             From the 1960's until now, the price of cigarettes has doubled twice. The average cigarette smoker smokes approximately 15 cigarettes a day (www.smokersannonomous.com). Cigarettes today can be as high as $4.50 a pack. If a pack consists of 20 cigarettes, people are spending near five dollars a day on cigarettes. Five dollars may not seem much in one day, but it adds up. In one week, approximately $35.00 is spent on cigarettes. These numbers are going by the "usual smoker", and can differ on people having more cigarettes. But spending over a hundred dollars on cigarettes a month can really hurt you financially. Most people who are addicted to cigarettes find a way to fit them into there budget, no matter how tight it is. This can affect family and personal life. A family might not have enough money to survive having cigarettes into the budget. Cigarettes are very costly and take away from hard earner money.
             Today, doctors are trying to find every single way that smoking affects your exterior body. Different doctors and teams from all around the world are working together to basically prove why cigarettes make you look worse than if you didn't smoke them. As soon as the second year of smoking, a smoker's fingertips may start to turn yellow. Fingernails also can become very choppy, or even crack. The exterior smoke really damages the hands, and it is extremely unhealthy. The biggest concern by dentists is the affect smoke has on teeth.
