Of Mice and Men

If your best friend turned on you, what would you do, who would you turn to tell everything to? Having friendship and companionship is a must. There is no way that anyone can make it through life without having someone that they can rely on. In Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, two men rely on each other for many reasons, as one needs more help than the other.

If something ever goes wrong, your friend will or should be there to help bail you out of it. Lennie got into some trouble back in Weed and George got him out of there and into safety. George cares for Lennie so much that he won’t let anything bad happen to him. George loves Lennie in a brotherly sense and will take care of him. George told Lennie that if there was any trouble then he should run to the brush and hide until George came and found him. George is looking out for Lennie as he should. Friendship and companionship is a must for any one person. Lennie pretty much depended on George for a sense of belonging. For example, Lennie is always talking to George and asking him things.

Everyone needs someone there to talk to and keep each other company. They talk about this dream and aim towards it. By talking about things they kept each other company and even came up with a few dreams. A friend needs someone to back them up. George likes Lennie around cause there wouldn’t be anyone for him to talk to and he wants to keep Lennie satisfied. Without Lennie he would be lonely and probably go insane. Lennie talks to George and trusts that he will give Lennie an honest answer. Friends can rely on each other to back them up or keep them out of trouble. In Lennie’s mind George has always been a true and loyal friend. Another example would be, “I was jus’ foolin’, Lennie. Another example of this is, “An’ I got you.
