Babysitting job versus Fast-food job Most teenager's first job is as a babysitter in their home. Once they get a little older their parents allow them to get a simple fast-food job. Thinking about the pay of these two jobs might surprise you. Schedules for these two jobs can differ in some ways. Also, I will talk about the differences in the work place of these two jobs. First I will compare and contrast the rate of pay of babysitting versus fast-food. The rate of pay is very important to most people. Babysitting jobs usually pay a rate of $5 an hour, while the minimum wage for fast-food restaurants is $5.15 an hour. This is not a very big difference if you consider taxes. Most people that baby-sit get paid in cash or a personal check. On the


Babysitting jobs are also more reliable. Also, consider the qualities of the environment that you will be working in. Now, let's consider the differences in the work environments. For example mothers to children and college students must work around their daily schedule to make time for work. Fast- food jobs are done in public facilities were you can be exposed to contaminations and dangerous machineries. Babysitting jobs are usually done inside a home. On the other hand a babysitting job does have a set schedule because it is set upon the parents of the kids. They may switch you from days to nights, off and on. At a fast- food job you have several co-workers and must work with them as a team. other hand fast-food restaurants pay in checks that take out miscellaneous taxes for things. Therefore the responsibilities are greater on a babysitting job than on a fast-food job. Always remember to pick a job that will fit your personal schedule. Fast- food jobs can lay off workers or even lower or raise your working hours. For most people their work schedule most be planned with the rest of their daily activities.
