Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer show Twain's creative skill in creating many colorful characters with awesome imagination. These boys have tricked people into painting fences for them, going in a cave with them; pretty much anything they can make look interesting. Huckleberry Finn is the story of the character, known as Huck, a boy who flees his father by rafting down the Mississippi River with a runaway slave, Tom Sawyer. Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer did not have the nicest of childhoods, they both, multiple times, tried to run away. Another theme of the novel is the conflict between Huck's feelings of friendship with Tom and the ever changing evil that men do. Huckleberry Finn, which is almost entirely narrated from Huck's point of view, is noted for its authentic language and young life on the banks of the Mississippi River. These boys have faced death to many times to be scared of it! They have a great sense of adventure, especially the part where Tom puts the spider on his little brother. Tom and Huck take life to the extreme! They've gone from rafting down a river to almost falling down a cave. Tom and Huck's adventures show Huck to the cruelty of which men are capable. Their character shows them as two young brave boys, who aren't afraid to take a risk in what they do.
