Incident in the life of slave girl

The Incidents In The Life Of A Slave GirlIn the American Literature, Harriet Jacobs published "Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl" based on the events in her own life. In the book of "Incidents in the Life of Slave Girl", the author tells us an excellent story of her twenty years spent in slavery with her masters. The main purpose of this book is to give people an inside look at some of the violence that took place during slavery. Jacob's hope was to give thousands of White Northern women "a realizing sense of the condition of two millions of women at the South, still in bondage, suffering what I have suffered, and most of them far worse."In Jacob youth, she had a good master and mistress and was treated well. As a young girl, she learned to read and write, which was highly rare among slaves. Jacob's mistress was so kind to her that she was always glad to do her bidding, and proud to labor for her as much as her young years would permit. When her mistress died, she was passed on to the daughter as an inheritance and the daughter married an older man who was as evil as most of the other slave holders. She witnessed his cruelty personally. His name is Dr. Flint.

Finally, to avoid him, she allowed herself to be impregnated by a compassionately neighboring slaveholder who at least treated her decent and have two children with him. Her book is full of rich vocabulary. The meaning of slavery has a different meaning today than it did years ago. In 1863, she and her daughter moved to Alexandria, Virginia, where they organized medical care for Civil War victims and established the Jacobs Free School. Many of the narratives were written by imagining what it was like to be a slave, but this book is not written to earn sympathy from readers, but to shock readers into the realities of slavery. I think the reader and myself can definitely get to experience the life of a slave. By reading the book of "the incident in life of a slave girl", I feel like the author was telling her life story in front of me. He refused to sell her or her children to anyone for any price because he knew that her friends would be happy to purchase her for the purpose of freeing her. She lived in this hole with no light, no fresh air, and barely ever moved for almost seven years. If we were to look it up in the Oxford Dictionary the definition given here is of one who is an "obsessive devotee. Her writing skills and the description of events she used was impressive. She wrote this book because she had a message to give to the readers, but was held back in a way by her honesty. Even after reaching the north, she had to resist prejudice and fear for a long time before she and her children eventually became free. She was very clever because she had to plan various strategies to take in her devil master's attempts to capture her.
