Is Single Sex Teaching Effective?

             Do you think single sex teaching is effective? Why would anyone want to go to an all boys' schools? Can you imagine school without girls, cheer leaders, and gossiping about girls? We may think about this and decide there are no advantages to an all boys' school, but in reality, single sex schools have many. Believe it or not, having girls around is not the most important factor in our education. I believe all boys' schools are more advantageous than coeducational schools because there are fewer distractions and you will have more confidence socially and academically.
             One of the advantages of single sex education system is there are fewer distractions. "In general, their attention was more on the academic activities," says Lorraine Perry(Harrison, 78). I believe the single sex education system will help students to concentrate more on academic activities. For example, many students choose to wear clothes that make them more attractive to the opposite sex. I believe this is natural to have a girl or boyfriend. However, we do no need a girl or boy friend in order to educate ourselves because it has nothing to do with education. The main reason for attending school is to educate ourselves, not to get a girlfriend or a boyfriend.
             In the single sex education system, you will have more confidence socially and academically then in a coeducational school. For example, even if I know the answers to the question in class, I will avoid raising my hand in class because I'm afraid that the answer might wrong, and afraid the girls will laugh at me and think I'm stupid. On the other hand, if I'm at the single sex school then I do not have to be afraid of anyone.
