Speech for afghanistan women
The women of Afghanistan have been oppressed too long. Their lives have turned into desolation and the families of many have been brutally killed. They are suppressed under the veil which conceals their identities. Today, in this presentation I would like to show you some examples of Afghanistan women and how their lives have changed since the rise of the Taliban. Once the Taliban came into authority many rules and regulations were produced. Women had to wear a veil in order to conceal them selves. But not only did it conceal them, but it created a barrier between them and life. No longer were they allowed to go out in public without a male family member in their presence. No longer were they allowed to attend school, college or university. No longer were they given medical treatment or checked by the hospital, and no longer were they allowed to have a voice. Yes what I am saying is true. Women were beaten in public for speaking out loud, or expressing an opinion. Local hospitals would only allow male patients and the hospitals that did allow female patients had hardly any medication or equipment. This is not the way that women should be treated. The Taliban would like to think that they are doing everything by Islamic law, b
Seeing this, my husband tried to kick the person who shot my son, they immediately shot my husband as well. You may find this hard to absorb, I mean how can such atrocities happen like that, but for many families savage murder is common. I was living in Mazar-e-Sharif with my husband and two children, a son and a daughter. My question to the world is, Is there no one in the world to stop the cruel Taliban from killing innocent people? Who will give me the justice? Is the conscience of all people around the world dead, that they are deliberately ignoring the atrocities of the Taliban. Two days after the fall of the city, people belonging to the Taliban regime forcefully entered my house, 6 in total. There was no one to listen to us and give us justice. A day later, I got another shock of my life, the cruel Taliban brutally killed my father and two brothers. The go to extreme lengths to depart from this injustice. Saraya is part of a large underground feminist association who defy Taliban laws. Another report shows that almost 1 third of the female population in Afghanistan have tried to commit suicide. As libraries, hospitals and schools are being restored, women are still trying to catch up with civilizationAs I conclude my presentation I would like to leave you with some images for you to ponder over. I might have died too after such a big tragedy but perhaps for the sake of my daughter I am still alive. Is the blood of my and other thousands of families gone to waste? There are no sons left who can listen to their mother's voice? No fathers who console his daughter? Is there no Mohammad bin Qasim left in the Muslim world to liberate my people from savage clutches of the Taliban and give us justice? An Afghan woman.
