Life
Never take life for granted, because it can be quickly taken away. Everyone walks around day-by-day as if they're going to live forever. Begging them to differ, one day they too are going to die. Life is so precious but not promised, so therefore they have to live everyday as their last, live life to the fullest. Once their life is gone there's no way to go back and change the history they once lived. Just ask Emily in the play "Our Town". She died giving birth to her second child; she had a chance to return and relive a day in her life that seemed to be most exciting to her. She chose to go back and relive her 12th Birthday. She thought she was going to enjoy it but she soon realized her 12th Birthday wasn't as happy and joyful as she intended it to be. She didn't realize what she had until it was too late. In "Our Town" Thornton Wilder analyzes the play's portrayal of love, marriage, and death. Wilder displayed his belief that loves between people is essential for a happy and successful life. People weren't put on the earth to be alone and unhappy. Men and women were put here to be together to reproduce and enjoy each other. Love shared between two people is a beautiful feeling. The feeling of knowing the love is mutua
As her spirit returns to her grave she noticed her husband weeping. Life is full of risks that people must take a chance with and live it to the fullest. The Our Town in general is related to as the Rites of Passage which is consists the stages birth, puberity, adult hood, and death. The people of that small town had no idea that they were blessed. She was granted the opportunity to return to earth and relieve a moment she thought she would have enjoyed. Webb summed up the saying by saying" So I took the opposite of my fathers advice and I've been happy ever since". People don't realize what they have until it gone. The talk about the wedding of course is how expensive it's going to be, but no matter the price the wedding is on its way. Life is what you make it; no one can live it for. She understands life was irreplaceable and it should be treasured. The vision was filled with harshness and self-centeredness. In order to feel the love the individual must have an open heart and mind to receive such a passionate feeling. He felt the sincerity of her concern so he decided to stay in Grover's Corner for the sake of her. George and Emily would live a happy life, until that sorrowful dayEmily and George was happily married and begun their family with a child.
