An Ideal Pet

             Being the oldest sibling, I never had the opportunity to feel lonely while growing up. Recently, I moved away from home and for the first time ever I was very alone. Growing up with pets, my first thought was to rescue an orphaned animal from the local shelter. Before heading down and walking through the pound just in agony trying just to choose one pet, I decided to choose a pet that would be ideal for my lifestyle. But, always being around dogs, cats, and fish, how does one choose, "an ideal pet?' All pets can make good companions, but sometimes their needs and can be conflicting with the owners. For example, if an average work weeks includes long hours or an extensive amount of traveling time, then a dog or bird may not want to be considered. Dogs are very social animals and need lots of interaction. Cats, however, are more independent and can be an ideal pet for someone on the go. Cats have long been a favorite among animal lovers. They are playful, self-reliant, and offering unconditional love and those are just some of the requirements that and ideal pet should encompasses.
             One characteristic of an ideal pet is being playful. Playful can be defined and enjoying fun and games. The word playful can also be known as lively, mischievous or full of life. Cats entertaining antics and affectionate behaviors have endeared these animals to millions of owners. One of the very reasons most cats are chosen as pets is due to an impulse purchase. Many potential pet owners are determined to have a kitten after they watch a group of small kittens wrestling and fight among each other. While most kittens are very lively, as they grow older they start to develop a routine, which usually only include small bursts of energy throughout the day.
